Walk with us at Korean Folk Village

Walk with us at Korean Folk Village

This Korean spot has always been on my list to visit.  But I never had a chance to visit during my first trip to Korea in 2014.  But on my second visit in 2015, I made sure that I will step on this ground *big grins*.

And so, I did *jumping jumping*.

Nila and Dolly, two lovely friends of mine joined me in my Korean Folk Village Adventure. (*whispers* As they don’t have any itinerary on their Korea Travel Plans…hahaha!)

It took us more than an hour travel from Seoul to Suwon.  We had to take a train from Sangsu Station (where we stayed)  to Suwon Station and then took a Free Shuttle Bus courtesy of Korean Tourism Organization to reach the spot.  We had a smooth travel and didn’t get lost at all. (Manse!)

The only thing that we didn’t plan well is that we should have been there first thing in the morning. Why so!?  It’s because the place is so huge that you wouldn’t finish touring in just a few hours.  It needs the whole day, literally.

Above is a short video of our joyful awesome refreshing enchanting walk around the Korean Folk Village.  I hope that this will make you smile and be an inspiration for your next Korea Travel Plans.

And for cool photos of this trip, I will share it on my next blog *winks*.

Thanks again for reading my blog and hope that you’ll visit again.

Korean Food | Galbi Tang | 갈비탕

Korean Food | Galbi Tang | 갈비탕

What’s perfect for a cold winter day?

Correct!!!

Galbi Tang | 갈비탕!

We went to Suwon to visit the market place as my mother would like to purchase korean utensils, pots, plates and more.

When done with purchasing, Mama asked Mr. Kim to take us to a delicious Galbi Tang restaurant. *whispers* It’s her favorite korean dish as it is served non-spicy. *smiles*

Fighting the chilly weather, we hurriedly walked about 3 blocks away from the market to the Galbi Tang restaurant.  We found the traditional restaurant and luckily, there were still seats left for us. Manse!

We were warmly greeted as we entered and straightly guided to our table. I always wanted to dine on a korean off-shoes floor-seated restaurant and viola! It was just like I wanted *happy*.

As this is a Galbi Restaurant, we didn’t have to wait that long for our order.  It came in less than five minutes on a steaming hot earthen pot.  Just the way I watched in Korean dramas.

*after taking the videos and photos*

Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!

Munch! Munch! Munch!

Siwonhada!!! (Refreshing!)

It was truly a delicious Galbi! It totally warmed our cold body and filled our empty stomach!!! Two thumbs up for this restaurant.

I would definitely visit them again! If only I can find where I kept the toothpick with their name and address on! *grins*

Thanks again for reading my blog and hope that you’ll visit again.

Around Changdeok Palace

Around Changdeok Palace

As I stepped inside the Changdeokgung, it brought a smile in my heart.  “Ah…one of my dream is about to come true!”, I exclaimed in silence.

Amidst the cold and falling snow, I pulled out my camera and started shooting.

I finally captured a white Korean palace.  Another check on my bucket list.

It’s much enchanting when seen in person, but I hope I was able to share my joys with you through these photos.

Thanks again for reading my blog and hope that you’ll visit again.

My First Hanbok Experience

My First Hanbok Experience

I am one of those Korean Drama Lovers who particularly is attracted to watch period dramas (about Kings and Queens of Joseon Dynasty) and it led me to be fascinated with Korea’s Traditional Dress, The Hanbok.

On a chilly snowy day in Seoul, we went to visit Bukchon Hanok Village.  Me and my travel buddies passed by a hanok offering Hanbok experience.  And so we didn’t let the chance get by.  The experience was for 7000 won each (very reasonable price).  We were assisted to properly dress and was given almost an hour to take photos on our own (as no dedicated photographer included in the package) inside and outside the hanok.

My first hanbok experience was really awesome! I felt I traveled back to the Joseon Era (grins).   I was randomly given the hanbok worn by the Queen.  Really special right? The colors was stunning and the cloth was really soft and flowing.  The Ajumma who assisted me even taught me how to pose. Apparently the Queen always places her hand inside the hanbok top (Royalty gesture, I guess).

Judging from my experience, the hanbok, is not to be worn on its own during winter time, as it is so thin. Undergarments and winter tops are a must, otherwise, frost bites! =P

On your travel to Korea, don’t miss the chance to try the Hanbok. It will definitely be a great korean experience.

More photos of Korean Hanbok with my friends coming up.

Thanks again for reading my blog and hope that you’ll visit again.

Nami Island Adventure Part I

Nami Island Adventure Part I

One of the famous tourist spots in Korea is Nami Island. Nami Island boosted it’s popularity because of the korean drama “Winter Sonata”, where it all happened in Nami Island.

I tried my best and captured Nami Island on our first ever visit during fall season.  The weather was really nice, cold yet really refreshing.  It was perfect to take a walk and be one with the enchanting nature of Nami Island.

This zipline crosses from the port of Naminara to the main entrance of Nami Island over the body of water. It is a great thrill. I didn't get the chance to try it though. Maybe next time.

The Road to Gimpo

The Road to Gimpo

We are bound to Jeju on a bright and sunny day. Mr. Kim, the owner of the guesthouse/hostel (where we were staying), offered to drop us at Gimpo Airport. We are really satisfied with his hospitality.  He really takes good care of his visitors and he makes sure that we really feel at home.

On the road to Gimpo Airport, we had tons of laughters as Mr. Kim entertained us with his Gag expertise (bwahahhaha…). And of course, we had a chance to ask him about the places that we passed by, clarify Korean drama’s Gangsters, Korean history and Korean facts. It was a very informative and joyful drive. Thanks to Mr. Kim. =)

Make sure to watch till the end of the video so you won’t miss any details.
